چکیده

Soil adhesion is a major problem for agricultural machinery, especially in sticky soils within the plastic range. One promising and practical way to minimize soil–tool modify surface geometry one inspired by soil-burrowing animals. In this study, 27 domed discs were fabricated according an L27 (33) Taguchi orthogonal array tested determine optimal dimensions of surfaces reduce drag force. The optimized disc was soil bin under different conditions (soil texture: silty loam sandy clay loam; moisture content: 23%, 30%, 37%). All trials included flat (without dome pattern) as control. generate lowest possible force present experimental explored based on signal-to-noise ratio analysis. levels control parameters found at coverage 60%, height 5 mm, base diameter 20 mm. Statistics revealed that height-to-diameter are crucial factors influence surfaces. contrast, had limited all treatments, less than (by about 9% 25%, conditions). Accordingly, it can be concluded adequately designed could significantly compared their counterparts.

Assessing Relation of Soil Hydrophobicity and Soil Water Content and Determining Threshold Moisture of Organic Soil Samples

Soil water content is the most effective factor associated with the hydrophobic and hydrophilic changes in a soil. Water repellency in soils, is not a permanent feature; it can be reached in the dry season and reduced or eliminated in the wet season It can be said that in terms of moisture, there is a critical region that is defined as the threshold moisture content, where in lower moisture, th...

Effect of Temperature, Moisture, and Soil Texture on DCPA Degradation

Turf managers sometimes experience poor or early loss of control oftargeted weeds, even when herbicides are applied at recommended rates. This study was conducted to determine the influence of soil temperature and moisture on the rate of DCPA (dimethyl tetrachloroterephthalate) degradation in soil. The effect of six soil temperatures, three soil moistures, and three soil textures on the degrada...

Soil Moisture Content

The assessment of soil moisture content and surface roughness from remotely sensed data is of primary importance for improving agricultural techniques of conservation farming such as yield forecasts, scheduling irrigations, fertilization. SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) remotely sensed data may provide a powerful tool for indirectly retrieving these agricultural surface parameters over large are...

Investigating the Effect of Soil Organic Matter on Gypsum Block Calibration for Measuring Soil Volumetric Moisture Content

Continuous soil moisture assessment and evaluation is essential for irrigation management and planning. One of the common methods for measuring the moisture content of the soil is the use of a gypsum block. The use of gypsum blocks in some cases, including the presence of organic matter in soil, may cause an error in the measurement of moisture. For this purpose, a laboratory study was conducte...

Adsorption of arsenic on soil under different soil moisture conditions

The adsorption study was conducted on three Japanese soils with different soil properties to characterize the adsorption pattern of Arsenic (As). Double tube method was used to find out the effect of soil moisture levels on As adsorption. For this study, besides double tube method, conventional batch method also was used. The As adsorption showed two phase kinetics. An initial and rapid adsorpt...
